Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a BEST Criminal Justice Diversion Police Co-responder to work with the Boston Police on crisis calls, provide on-site assessments, and link individuals to community mental health and psychiatry services. This role supports rapid access to care and works within the BEST system.

The candidate should hold a masters in a mental health field, with licensure preferred, and ideally experience in trauma-focused mental health services and health-care settings.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in mental health field by start date; licensure preferred.
• Experience delivering mental health services to traumatized individuals is a plus.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
• Experience in health or hospital settings desirable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site assessments and crisis interventions.
• Collaborate with Boston Police to assist callers in crisis.
• Facilitate rapid access to mental health, substance abuse and psychiatry services.
• Coordinate referrals and maintain written documentation.
