Job summary

Iowa Department of Corrections – Sixth District is seeking a Community Corrections Supervisor to oversee Probation Parole Officers in Linn County. The role includes supervising staff, reviewing casework for quality, and participating in district leadership decisions to improve service delivery and outcomes.

The position emphasizes collaboration with local partners, adherence to budgets, and involvement in statewide initiatives to enhance community safety.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field.
• Experience equal to four years of full-time work in human services, criminal justice, or corrections.
• Alternative: eight years of education and/or full-time experience with college credit hours qualifying as experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the work of subordinates; recommends personnel actions related to hiring, performance and leave, grievances, work schedules and assignments.
• Reviews casework and performs audit reviews for quality assurance.
• Serves as a member of the district’s leadership team and participates in decision-making processes.
• Collaborates with other supervisors on culture, practice and implementation of initiatives.
• Participates in statewide initiatives and projects related to service delivery and evaluation.
• Collaborates with local services providers and justice partners to address gaps in service delivery.
