Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Parole/Probation Specialist to manage intake and processing of offenders under community supervision, ensuring accurate data entry into OBIS and maintaining offender records. You will interpret sentencing documents, verify offender data, and support initial and pre-release orientation programs, contributing to public safety.

The role requires reporting to the FDC office and is not a telework position.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Background screening requirement: Level 2 background check.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily intake and processing of offenders placed or released on community supervision, ensuring accurate data entry into OBIS.
• Interpret, code, and enter sentencing and monetary obligation documents into CDC and OBIS using tools like the Automated Correctional Task System.
• Obtain, verify and establish initial computer records for new commitments and assist with orientation programs.
• Request and screen criminal record information through NCIC/FCIC and other databases and prepare detailed prior records for new intakes.
• Coordinate community service work activities and assist with job needs and program assignments.
• Ensure offender photographs are captured for the department's website.
