Job summary

Mesa County seeks a Community Corrections Officer to interview, assess and monitor defendants and offenders in local/state systems. The role covers Pretrial, Diversion, Deferred, Electronic Monitoring and Day Reporting in community or detention settings.

Responsibilities include intake, court communications, supervision, data entry and incident reporting. A high school diploma, background check, CPR/First Aid, CPI certification after hire, and a Colorado driver’s license are required or

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with related training.
• Experience in interviewing or assessing defendants and documenting findings is preferred.
• Skills in crisis intervention and communication are important for field supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intakes, interviews, and prepare reports for courts and attorneys.
• Supervise defendants in the community or detention settings and ensure program compliance.
• Perform data entry, collect fees, complete incident reports and maintain records.
• Testify in court as needed and participate in crisis intervention and problem solving.
