Job summary

KKCO, a Scripps station in Grand Junction, Colorado, seeks a Sr. Manager, Community Connections to serve as the primary link to the local community.

You will build trusted relationships, gather insights for newsroom decision-making, and develop partnerships that enhance local engagement and trust across News, Sales, Marketing, and leadership. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent years of relevant experience preferred.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement, journalism, nonprofit leadership, communications, public affairs, partnership development, government relations, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with civic, nonprofit, business, educational, government, and other community stakeholders.
• Gather, analyze, and share community insights with station leadership, newsroom teams, and partners.
• Partner with News to identify story opportunities and connect journalists with trusted sources.
• Represent the station and develop partnerships that create long-term value and local impact.
• Lead planning and execution of forums, town halls, and other community engagement activities.
• Collaborate with News, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and leadership to develop opportunities that strengthen audience relationships.
