Job summary

Kindly Direct Care is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in Middletown, NJ. The role involves companionship, helping the individual participate in community outings, and supporting daily activities in home and community settings.

Schedule is 3 days per week (11:00 AM–2:00 PM); driving is required. Pay ranges from $18 to $21 per hour, with a focus on safety, reliability, and building a trusting relationship with the

Qualifications

• Warm, patient, dependable, and able to build consistent relationships.
• Ability to reliably work the posted schedule.
• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings.
• Requires a valid driver’s license; vehicle may be required for shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.
• Help the individual participate in community outings.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, social opportunities, or other community activities as applicable.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Help the individual work toward goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

About This Opportunity

24-year-old verbal, high-functioning individual who enjoys going to the library, bookstores, antique shops, doing crafts, taking walks, watching old movies, and going to the gym. Looking for a patient, reliable DSP who is comfortable supporting behavioral needs, including OCD, yelling, self-harm, and occasional behaviors that may pose a risk to others.

What You’ll Do

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.
• Help the individual participate in community outings.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, social opportunities, or other community activities as applicable.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
