Job summary

The Town of Collierville is seeking a Public Information Officer to join our Administration team. You will develop and manage strategic communications that strengthen ties between the Town, employees, the media, and the public, while creating public information, press releases, newsletters, and digital content.

You will maintain the Town website, coordinate across departments, and serve as a liaison between the Mayor, Board of Aldermen, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Administration or related field.
• Three years of progressive experience in Communications or journalism.
• Ability to attend meetings outside regular hours; proficient with social media apps and design programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage strategic communication with the community, employees, media.
• Create and distribute public information, press releases, newsletters, and digital content.
• Maintain Town website and coordinate cross-department communication.
• Liaise between Mayor, Board of Aldermen, departments, media, and partners.
• Attend meetings, prepare reports, and organize public groups for outreach.
