Under the direction of the Vice Chancellor, the Community College Specialist (CC Specialist) serves as a statewide subject-matter lead for Academic Affairs programs, policy, and implementation—providing strategic leadership, coordination, consultation, and technical assistance. The position supports a broad portfolio including curriculum, instructional innovation, equity initiatives, partnerships, and systemwide Academic Affairs priorities, while contributing to special projects as assigned.
The incumbent shall lead the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of complex statewide programs, initiatives, grants, and contracts; refine implementation strategies and ensure alignment across systemwide activities. The CC Specialist ensures accuracy and consistency of curriculum, fiscal, policy, and compliance information; analyze legislation and regulations; assess impacts; and advise leadership on risks, equity considerations, and systemwide implications. The incumbent engages with program stakeholders and provides technical assistance, including providing authoritative guidance and consultation to colleges, districts, partners, and internal staff through communications, training, governance processes, and field-facing activities.
