Under the general direction of the Correctional Counselor III, C&PR, the Correctional Counselor II (Specialist) conducts specialized program assignments. Duties include initial classification and subsequent program evaluations for incarcerated persons; affirm loss and restoration of Behavioral Credits and the provision of general casework services, per the Department Operations Manual (DOM). Responsibilities may extend to supervision of incarcerated persons and general custody duties in time of emergency, performs other custodial duties as required by proper authority, and adhere to Departmental Use of Force Policy. Prevents escapes and injury by incarcerated persons to themselves of others, or property; maintain security of working areas and work materials, inspect premises and searches of incarcerated persons for contraband such as weapons and or illegal drugs. The Correctional Counselor II (Specialist) is required to carry a whistle, PAD alarm and OC Pepper Spray at all times.

California Medical Facility (CMF), located in a unique spot in Vacaville, CA. Unique as in being surrounded by many areas for family fun, exercise, touristy adventures and more. Approximately 35 miles east of downtown Sacramento, approximately 53 miles west of Pier 39 in San Francisco, and if you want to meet in the middle you can swing by Napa which is approximately 30 miles west. Also located nearby are the Vacaville Outlets for all your shopping needs.
