Job summary

City of Dallas seeks a Neighborhood Code Representative to educate and engage the community, coordinating with council staff, departments, courts, and volunteers. The role emphasizes outreach, education, and resolving code-related issues in partnership with city entities.

The NCR acts as a liaison, communicates policies, and participates in community events to improve safety and compliance for Dallas neighborhoods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years of relevant experience in code enforcement, public outreach or related fields.
• Equivalency option with higher education and three years of experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, administers, and monitors education and outreach programs.
• Develops public information material to promote events and interprets laws and policies.
• Assesses complaints, drafts warnings or citations if needed.
• Coordinates with city departments, nonprofits, volunteers and community groups.
• Participates in neighborhood meetings and documents concerns.
