Job summary

The Town of Addison is seeking a Code Compliance Officer to perform daily case work, inspections, and enforcement of local codes to improve neighborhood and commercial district quality of life.

Under general supervision, you will coordinate inspections, prepare notices, present evidence in Municipal Court, and support outreach efforts to engage residents and businesses in compliance with ordinances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2 years code compliance experience OR equivalent.
• Must be certified as Code Enforcement Officer or obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and clean background check.
• Ability to enforce codes with fairness and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and reinspect properties to identify code violations.
• Prepare notices and track abatement of violations.
• Represent the Town at events to promote programs.
• Provide information on codes and ordinances to the public.
• Present evidence in Municipal Court and prepare citations.
• Coordinate outreach and engage target audiences.
• Maintain case files and update databases.
• Attend meetings and committees as needed.
