Job summary

The Chavez Foundation in Los Angeles is seeking a Community Service Coordinator to oversee the Si Se Puede Community Center programs and related activities. You will supervise residents, volunteers, and student interns, and outreach to establish partnerships.

Responsibilities include implementing and supervising programs, classes, and activities for effectiveness, maintaining records, and ensuring ethical practices in serving low-income families across California and neighboring states.

Qualifications

• Preferred – at least 48 college credits from a two-year college or related experience in Education/Youth Development/Community Services.
• Preferably bilingual.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel/Access) required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Live scan fingerprint/background check may be required.
• Must provide proof of a negative TB test taken within the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all ethical practices of the Chavez Foundation by serving the community with character, integrity, dignity, and a high degree of professionalism.
• Manage all Si Se Puede Community Center Programs, including Afterschool, Resident Social Services, Meal Distribution, Health and Wellness, and Community Outreach.
• Establish a welcoming environment within the facility for members and visitors.
• Maintain record keeping and document retention systems and compile comprehensive reports.
