Job summary

City of Greenville (SC) administers comprehensive recreation programs at community centers, organizing summer camps, afterschool activities, arts programs, and senior activities. The role involves coordinating staff and volunteers, ensuring facilities are safe and well-maintained, and transporting participants in city vehicles.

You will engage with neighborhood associations and partners to promote offerings, manage records, and assist with budget considerations while delivering quality services

Qualifications

• Associate degree in sports management, parks and recreation management, or a related field.
• Over one (1) year of experience in recreation management and/or education.
• Any equivalent combination of directly related education, training, and experience with progressive responsibility in recreation, sports management, education, physical education, or a related field.
• Must have or obtain CPR & First Aid certifications within six (6) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate diverse recreation programs for all ages and abilities.
• Monitor and inspect facilities, equipment and safety; coordinate setup/breakdown.
• Serve as liaison to neighborhood groups, partners, and internal teams; promote programs.
• Maintain records of participants, rentals, and program data; support budget reporting.
