Job summary

The Salvation Army's PMC-Suffolk Corps in Suffolk, VA is seeking a part-time Recreation Attendant to open/close the Community Center, supervise activities, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for participants. You will plan schedules, lead leagues (soccer/basketball/baseball), transport patrons as needed, and help organize the annual summer day camp; evenings and Saturdays are required.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least six months coaching or supervising

Qualifications

• Six months of experience coaching and supervising athletic events and maintaining grounds, OR
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Supervise patrons and ensure adherence to rules and regulations.

• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of facilities and equipment.
• Plan and organize the annual summer day camp.

Salary Range: $13.00 - $15.00 Hourly

Job Category: Recreationchedule/Hours: Regular, Non-Exempt (Schedule varies; evenings and Saturdays will be required)

Key Responsibilities:

• Open/close the Community Center in compliance with established operating hours; secure facilities.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain schedules of activities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Duties include a combination of sitting, standing, and walking frequently.
• Requires ability to perform yard work such as raking, hauling, and operating maintenance equipment.
• Work performed indoors and outdoors with possible exposure to weather changes, noise, dust, and dirt.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOUEducation and Experience:

Licenses and Certifications:
