Institute for Community Living Inc. is seeking an entry-level direct care worker assigned to community residences.

This role provides 24/7 coverage, delivering care, education, socialization, and safety support for adults with mental illness and substance use disorders. Responsibilities include performing safety inspections, assisting with daily living skills, responding to incidents, and supporting treatment plans.

Competenze

• High school graduate or GED with one year of related human services experience.
• Specialized training or education may substitute for experience.
• NYS driver's license may be required for some assignments.

Mansioni

• Perform regular inspections inside the facility to ensure safety, property accountability, and cleanliness.
• Report serious incidents to supervisors and file incident reports in accordance with policy.
• Explain services and programs to consumers and instruct in daily living skills and socialization.
• Follow emergency plans to secure safety of consumers, staff and visitors per policy.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, nutrition, and daily living needs.
• Review staff communication log at the start of shift and document security checks and incidents.
• Observe environment and perform housekeeping to maintain a safe, healing environment.
• Ensure food provided or selected is appropriate for any special diets.
• Accompany consumers to medical appointments and other services as needed.
• Attend regular meetings and trainings as scheduled.
