Job Summary

This is a contracted door-to-door position at the Foundation for Recovery. Contractors will be responsible for knocking on doors and speaking to residents in assigned areas of Clark County about preventable overdoses while distributing public and behavioral health information and resources. The ideal candidates should have previous experience with canvassing or door-to-door sales, however, the Foundation will provide additional training to contractors with limited experience. Candidates should be comfortable engaging members of the public in conversations, have exceptional customer service skills, ability to handle rejection, and be comfortable with logging interactions and tracking engagements through a mobile application. All contractors will report directly to the Foundation’s Canvassing Director.

This is a contracted position; selected candidates are not W2 employees of the Foundation.

About the Program:

Led by Foundation for Recovery this initiative aims to raise awareness of overdoses among Clark County residents by recruiting passionate individuals from our community to canvass 100,000 doors in highly impacted neighborhoods. The majority of preventable overdose deaths in Clark County are occurring in a home setting. 65% of decedents in 2022 had at least one potential opportunity for linkage to care prior to death and in the case of 45% of deaths, there was a bystander present. Beyond the prevention of overdose deaths, having conversations with our neighbors can help to break down misconceptions, stigma, and increase awareness of public and behavioral health resources. We will give you everything you need to speak to other Clark County residents about overdoses. Foundation for Recovery is a 501c3 charitable organization that has been serving our community for 20 years through recovery sustainment support, educational program, and advocacy and awareness initiatives.
