Job summary

Opportunity Partners is seeking an Employment Specialist II to coordinate support for people with disabilities pursuing independent employment in East Metro communities (North St Paul, Woodbury, St Paul). The role emphasizes skill-building, planning, and collaboration with IDT members to enable meaningful work.

Primary duties include assisting with employment placement, on-site training, intake processing, and ongoing support to promote independence and social engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, education, or health with 1+ year of direct care experience.
• Associate degree in relevant field with 2+ years of direct care experience.
• Diploma in field related to human services with 3+ years of direct care experience.
• At least 50 hours of related education/training plus 4+ years of direct care work.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with securing community-based employment per their preferences and plan.
• Assess and document support/training needs; provide on-site training as needed.
• Provide case management to ensure services are initiated, evaluated and communicated.
• Develop and coordinate a plan highlighting employment strengths for independence.
• Market services to employers and referral sources to obtain placements.
• Complete intake and annual paperwork to meet billing requirements.
• Help people develop work skills in real life settings and support job satisfaction.
• Foster social skills growth and meaningful engagement in daily work.

Skills

Valid Driver’s license

Education

Bachelor's degree in human services, education, or health + 1 year experience

Associate degree in human services, education, or health + 2 years experience

Diploma in human services, education, or health + 3 years experience
