Job summary

Clarvida in Rutherfordton, North Carolina is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC) to join our behavioral health team. You will provide structured, evidence-based services to individuals living with substance use disorders, including assessment, counseling, education, and relapse prevention planning, while collaborating with other professionals to ensure integrated care.

This role requires a high school diploma, NC CADC certification, and a valid NC driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active North Carolina CADC certification.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group counseling for clients in recovery.
• Conduct screening, intake, orientation, and assessments to guide treatment plans.
• Develop individualized treatment plans addressing substance use and co-occurring concerns.
• Provide crisis intervention, case management, and client education.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to agency and state standards.
• Coordinate care with physicians, mental health professionals, and external resources.
• Travel within assigned service areas to provide community-based support.
