Job summary

00 RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking a Behavioral Health Peer Support Specialist to provide community-based services that promote self-determination and recovery for individuals with mental health or substance use challenges. The role supports an interdisciplinary team and serves as an advocate for clients in treatment and community activities.

The position requires Peer Support certification or supervisory certification, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Requires Qualified Mental Health Professional Status and Peer Support certification.
High School Diploma or GED.
1 year of experience working with the target population.
Must complete a minimum of twenty hours of training within 90 days.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
CPR/First Aid certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Meeting with clients to provide advice and support per treatment plan.
Assist in peer support groups with assigned clients regularly.
Support clients in daily decision making and resolving minor problems.
Assist clients in finding resources and encourage follow-through with proposed resolutions.
Advocate for clients in community meetings and activities.
Foster development of healthy relationships through community participation.
Observe client well-being and discuss observations with the team.
Model coping and self-help techniques for individuals or groups.
