Role Description

The Community Association Property Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Hillsdale, NJ and Off-Site Locations in Bergen County. This position manages the day-to-day operations of community associations, including overseeing maintenance and repairs, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and conducting regular property inspections. The manager works closely with association boards, preparing meeting agendas, attending board and annual meetings, and implementing board decisions and policies. Responsibilities include handling resident inquiries and concerns, enforcing association rules, assisting with budget preparation, monitoring association finances, and supporting collection efforts as needed. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with association governing documents and applicable regulations.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated skills in property and facilities management, including vendor coordination, maintenance oversight, and site inspections.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with boards, residents, and service providers, including conflict resolution and customer service.
  • Organizational and administrative abilities, such as recordkeeping, report preparation, meeting coordination, and time management.
  • Basic financial and budgeting knowledge, including understanding association budgets, operating expenses, and reserve planning.
  • Ability to interpret and apply governing documents, policies, and relevant local regulations affecting community associations.
  • Proficiency with office software and property management systems for email, documentation, and tracking tasks.
  • Prior experience in community association management, residential property management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certification (such as CMCA or equivalent) or willingness to pursue professional development in community association management is beneficial.
  • High school diploma required; college coursework or a degree in business, real estate, or a related discipline is a plus.
