Job summary

The Root Coworking in Omaha, NE is seeking a friendly front desk associate to greet members, manage inquiries, and help keep the space welcoming and organized.

You’ll cover front desk hours, respond to emails and calls, coordinate tours, restock amenities, brew coffee, and support community events under the guidance of the Community Manager.

The role offers hourly pay of $18.00–$20.00, about 40–45 hours weekly, with benefits including PTO, holidays, 401k, and a wellness credit.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Cover the front desk during business hours and/or designated hours.
  • Respond to email and phone inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Anticipate member needs, including brewing coffee and restocking amenities.
  • Schedule and conduct space tours; build community relationships.
  • Understand membership offerings and policies; assist guests and members accordingly.
  • Receive and organize incoming mail.
  • Brainstorm ideas for events and member appreciation.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations with Community Manager guidance.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Greet members and guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Cover the front desk during business hours and/or designated hours.
  • Quickly and effectively respond to email and phone inquiries.
  • Anticipate member and guest needs before they arise, including brewing coffee, restocking amenities, and cleaning the facility throughout the day.
  • Conduct and/or schedule tours of the space.
  • Build relationships in order to achieve the sense of community that our team prides ourselves on.
  • Understand and rehearse our different membership offerings and policies/procedures in order to help guests, members and potential new members.
  • Receive, process, sort, and organize all incoming mail.
  • Brainstorm new and creative ideas for community events, member appreciation, and other fun activities.
  • Use organization to maintain order in the space’s day-to-day operations in conjunction with the Community Manager.
Membership Management
  • Use excellent communication skills to respond to members with thoughtfulness and professionalism, and communicate all member-related issues to the Community Manager.
  • Support the Community Manager with member on- and off-boarding.
  • Be active on the member Slack channel.
Space Management
  • Conduct sweeps every hour to ensure a tidy and welcoming work environment.
  • Brew coffee as needed.
  • Run the dishwasher and put away all items.
  • Prepare and maintain printing rooms, and restock supplies as needed.
Event Coordination
  • Assist the Community Manager in brainstorming, developing, and executing events for members and the public.
  • Demonstrate The Root’s core values and strive to achieve our mission.
  • Create a welcoming and collaborative community environment through events and building relationships with members.
  • Assure excellent Member experience and space standards by following through on our Root Coworking playbook.

The hourly compensation range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00, working approximately 40-45 hours per week. The successful candidate's actual base compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, job related knowledge, skills and professional qualifications.
