Job summary

Georgia Community Support And Solut is seeking an Area Manager to oversee two group homes in the Metro Atlanta area. This on-site, full-time role requires coordinating staff, ensuring quality service, and maintaining compliance with program policies.

You will schedule shifts, support self-advocacy and independence for individuals served, and respond to after-hours needs as required. Travel between locations and evenings/weekends are expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three or more years of progressive experience in human services or related field supporting individuals with IDD.
  • At least one year of supervisory or lead experience with scheduling, coaching, and training oversight.
  • Experience coordinating or overseeing support services, including medical follow-up and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on-site in residential settings, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Advocates for individuals' involvement in self-advocacy, employment, social interaction in the community and learning independent living skills.
  • Fosters open communication with individuals, families, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinates the process for ensuring individuals’ medical needs are met.
  • Verifies and audits communication of medical documentation is in the appropriate logs and given to the correct departments.
  • Follow up and implement as needed on all support services recommendations.
  • Manage staff performance by evaluating and issuing progressive discipline as needed.
  • Coordinates all staff training with each location to ensure training is completed in a timely manner.
  • Acts as a role model by developing staff on how to work with individuals, families, and other staff.
  • Ensures staff is operating within the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Interviews potential new hires in a timely manner and participates in the termination of employees.
  • Coordinates staff schedules based on the staffing model for each group home.
  • Requires responding to calls in the evenings and on weekends and may require covering shifts in the group homes.
  • Conducts job duties at the group homes or other work locations. This is not a work-from-home position.
  • Conduct staff meetings to ensure dissemination of all company information.
  • Ensure timely completion of all reports and information requested.
  • Adhering to the budget of each group home location.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation, Certifications & Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED;Associate’s or Bachelor’sdegree in human services, social work, psychology, healthcare administration, or a related fieldpreferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive experienceworking in human services, residential services, healthcare, or a related field supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD).
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience, which may include responsibility for:
    • Staff scheduling and coverage
    • Performance feedback and coaching
    • Training coordination and/or oversight
    • Progressive discipline or corrective action
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or overseeingindividual support services, such as:
    • Medical or healthcare follow-up
    • Documentation and compliance logs
    • Communication with families, providers, or interdisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated ability to workon-site in residential or program locations, including evenings, weekends, and responding to urgent operational needs.
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license with reliable transportation and ability to travel between program locations.
  • Demonstrated commitment toperson-centered practices, community inclusion, and self-advocacy for individuals served, preferred.
