Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library science or equivalent with archival theory training.
• At least five years professional library/archival experience and processing expertise.
• Familiarity with MARC 21, LC Subject Headings, DACS, and Encoded Archival Description.
• Ability to read cursive handwriting.

Responsibilities

• Arrange, describe, rehouse, preserve, create finding aids, catalog, and make collections accessible.
• Assist in online catalog maintenance and metadata entry.
• Support planning, outreach, and collaboration with Georgia Historical Society staff and committees.
• Monitor environmental conditions and coordinate with vendors for preservation.
• Assist with digitization, donations, and reference services as needed.
