Responsibilities

  • Design and produce integrated marketing and communications materials across print, digital, web, email, video, and social media platforms to support student engagement, enrollment, retention, and college initiatives.
  • Assess SDEM communications, marketing, and branding needs and assist in developing strategies to enhance outreach, visibility, and engagement.
  • Create, edit, and manage content for SDEM communication channels, including social media, email communications, digital displays, publications, and promotional campaigns.
  • Develop student testimonials, success stories, profiles, and other marketing and communications content that promote SDEM programs, services, and initiatives.
  • Manage SDEM social media content and editorial calendar; monitor engagement and recommend opportunities to increase audience reach and impact.
  • Serve as a backup for website updates and maintenance using the college's content management system and basic HTML.
  • Coordinate the development of creative assets and production schedules with internal and external partners to ensure consistency with College branding, messaging, accessibility, and communications standards.
  • Collaborate with the college's marketing and communications office, vendors, the college print shop, Information Technology, and other departments to support SDEM communication and marketing initiatives.
  • Participate in planning content, graphic elements, and formats appropriate to departmental requirements as well as College branding and ADA-compliant standards.
  • Manage SDEM archives of marketing and communications materials and oversee marketing related equipment inventories and maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Division of Student Development and Enrollment Management (SDEM) provides quality services and programs to all students from the time they first apply to Hostos to the point of graduation. Our goals are to support students' academic achievement for career development; enhance students' intellectual, aesthetic, and social growth; facilitate critical thinking skills; and promote civic responsibility.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Experience developing and producing marketing and communications materials for print, digital, web, email, and social media platforms.
  • Experience with photography, videography, and video editing.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and production schedules in a collaborative environment.
  • Availability to work evening and weekend hours.
CUNY Title Overview
  • Provides design and production expertise for College publications, written materials, and multimedia communications.
  • Works with department and other College administrators to assess departmental publication needs and determine appropriate production and design elements.
  • Participates in planning communications messages, graphic elements, and formats appropriate to client requirements.
  • Manages production schedules and budgets, coordinating production activities with internal and external personnel.
  • Plans and implements online and multimedia communications, coordinating with Information Technology professionals as needed.
  • Supervises staff both creative and production staff; works with College print shop, computer center, and other departments to ensure support of college publication needs.
  • May oversee equipment inventories and coordinate maintenance of specialized equipment and technology.
  • Develops production workflows, policies and standards, and assures adherence to any internal or external communications standards.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits

$63,995 - $77,097; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
