Job summary

Eastern Bank Foundation is seeking a Communications Manager to lead and implement communications that translate its mission into engaging content for employees, nonprofit partners, and community leaders. You will shape strategy, manage multi-channel campaigns, and collaborate with Eastern Bank’s and Foundation’s communications teams to raise the Foundation’s profile and impact.

Qualifications

Seven-plus years of experience in communications, public relations, employee engagement, or related fields (corporate and/or nonprofit).
Balancing hands-on execution with strategy and storytelling.
Familiarity with philanthropy, community organizations, and systems change work is a plus.
Strong writing, verbal, and relationship-building skills.
Able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Collaborative, with the ability to work independently across teams.
Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools and media monitoring/reporting.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Responsibilities

Shape the Foundation’s communications strategy to highlight impact and community role.
Produce integrated communications across internal/external channels and events.
Translate complex systems work into accessible stories for diverse audiences.
Support thought leadership and policy-oriented communications.
Spotlight community contributions and employee volunteerism.
Develop toolkits, templates, ads, quotes, press materials, videos.
Assist with internal communications linking employees to opportunities.
Support media relations, press events, and prep spokespeople.
Maintain calendars, dashboards, presentations, and reports.
