Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking motivated communications interns for hands‑on experience in internal and external communications, content creation, social media and project coordination. You will craft messages, support campaigns, and help engage employees and stakeholders while learning strategic communication practices.

The internship runs May 17, 2027 – August 6, 2027, with onsite work in Irving, TX and multiple U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a full‑time, four‑year accredited college or university or graduate school in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism or Marketing.
• Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA (no rounding).
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, etc).
• Top candidates will also have ability to write and edit content for various channels following AP style.
• Natural collaborator with outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Strong initiative, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in delivering compelling presentations.
• Exceptionally organized with keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders and advise on suitable communication approaches.
• Track and analyze metrics to measure campaign effectiveness.
• Assist in planning and creating content for internal and external channels, ensuring consistent messaging and branding.
• Develop and distribute materials such as written communications, presentations, and websites to deliver key messages.
