Job summary

Louisiana Tech University is seeking a Communications Coordinator to execute the College's communications strategy, develop content for print and digital platforms, and maintain the College's website and social media presence. You will coordinate publications and promote faculty, students, alumni and industry partners.

The role supports COES strategic objectives by increasing awareness of academic programs, elevating research visibility, and promoting student success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible communications or marketing experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience managing websites and social media platforms.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop content for print and digital platforms and maintain the College's website and social media presence.

Job description

Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2026

COES has experienced significant growth in enrollment, research activity, industry partnerships, philanthropy and public engagement; and as the College continues to expand its impact, the demand for timely, high-quality communications has grown substantially. The ideal Communications Coordinator will be responsible for executing the College's communications strategy by developing content for print and digital platforms, maintaining the College's website and social media presence, coordinating publications and promoting the accomplishments of faculty, students, alumni and industry partners.

This position will support COES strategic objectives by increasing awareness of academic programs, elevating research visibility, strengthening alumni and industry engagement and promoting student success through consistent, high-quality communications. Working closely with the Executive Director of Operations and Communications, the Communications Coordinator will help ensure that the College's communications are accurate, cohesive and aligned with both the College's strategic plan and Louisiana Tech University's institutional priorities.

Minimum
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible communications or marketing experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience managing websites and social media platforms.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
Preferred
  • Master's degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.
  • Experience in higher education communications.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems and analytics tools.
  • Photography and video production experience.
