Job summary

Reading Hospital is seeking a Transfer Center Communication Coordinator to support patient placement and transfers within Tower Health. You will assist the Transfer Center nurse with admissions, direct transfers, and referrals, and coordinate EMS call intake and emergency dispatch activities.

In this role you will also help with internal transport resources, wheelchair vans, security, and emergency responses, while handling transfer-center cases and Emergency Management requests.

Qualifications

• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
• Post High School Diploma Program - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Post High School Diploma Program
• NIMS 700, 800, 100, & 200 within 6 months of hire
• BLS Certification

Job description

• The Communication Coordinator assists the Transfer Center nurse with putting patients into, out of, and within the Tower Health, Health System.
• This includes but is not limited to assistance with patient placement, direct admissions, transfers, and referrals.
• The Transfer Center Communication Coordinator also performs EMS call intake, performs emergency medical dispatch triage, dispatches EMS, EVS staff, inhouse transport resources, wheelchair vans, security, emergency teams and outsources transport requests that are not being handled by TowerDIRECT units.
• The Transfer Center Communication Coordinator also handles transfer center cases and Emergency Management requests.
