  • Prepare internal newsletters and staff communications.
  • Organize project images using Open Asset DAM.

Job description

Selldorf Architects is an award-winning international architecture firm based in New York City on Union Square. The firm’s portfolio encompasses a wide range of projects including museums, libraries, art galleries and infrastructure projects as well as multi-family residential buildings and private homes.

We are seeking a Coordinator to join the Communications and Marketing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and skill development. It is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and visual skills with a background and some experience in the field of architecture who seeks to learn about the business development and communications side of a firm. Candidates who have experience in architecture as designers but are searching for a change in their professional direction are also encouraged to apply. The Communications Coordinator will work with our Communications Manager and the Partner in charge of Business Development and Communications. Together, the team is responsible for crafting the firm’s messaging to a diverse range of audiences to raise the firm’s profile and secure new projects. Day-to-day activities include working on RFP and RFQ proposals and presentations for potential projects, responding to requests for press and publication materials, coordinating lectures and events, website updates, social media, and internal communications. The candidate should be passionate about architecture and the visual arts, enjoy collaboration, and have excellent organizational and writing skills, and graphic sensibilities.

The Communications Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include:
  • Business development: support the Communications Manager on highly tailored RFP/RFQ content production in Adobe InDesign, potential project research, consultant outreach, and interview presentations
  • Project assets: Work with architects to collect data for fact sheets, create/update staff bios, create project text and keep firm profile text updated
  • Website updates: Produce project page layouts, news and press updates, upload final posts, update firm and staff information
  • Social media: Develop content and post on social media platforms regularly, contribute to strategy, analytics tracking, and posting schedules for all platforms
  • Coordination of material requests for press and production of awards submissions content
  • Support events including lectures, panels, and other speaking engagements and office tours
  • Internal office communications: engage and organize staff activities such as site visits and produce internal newsletters with office updates
  • Coordinate the organization of images using Open Asset Digital Asset Management software
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in architecture, architectural history, art history, or visual studies
  • 1-2 years relevant professional experience
  • Excellent graphic sensibilities
  • Familiarity with the full Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign proficiency required; Photoshop, Illustrator and Open Asset are a plus)

Selldorf Architects follows a hybrid work model based out of our New York City, Union Square location, with in-office presence required Monday through Thursday and the option to work remotely on Fridays.

Our base salary compensation for this position based on experience ranges from $58,000 to $65,000 in addition to a discretionary quarterly bonus.
