Job description

We are looking for a talented Communications Coordinator to join our team specializing in Communications for our Cummins Inc. facility in Indianapolis, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Research, ideate, pitch and create content that showcases the people, plants and products of the Cummins Engine Business.
  • Develop compelling materials across multiple formats, including blog posts, videos, photo stories, listicles, infographics, case studies and long-form articles.
  • Coordinate and execute communications plans and strategies that support the Engine Business’ goals and priorities. This includes organizing and delivering high-visibility in-person and virtual events, webinars, product launches, campaigns, and employee engagement activities that strengthen brand awareness and connection.
  • Provide project management and coordination support across multiple initiatives, ensuring smooth collaboration between stakeholders. Track timelines, communicate plans and deadlines and report progress and achievements to project team members and business partners.
  • Collect, analyze and present data related to content performance, campaigns and events—helping translate insights into actionable recommendations for continuous improvement and greater communications impact.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences, tailoring messages to meet stakeholder needs and ensure mutual understanding.
  • Demonstrate accountability by following through on commitments, delivering high-quality work, and supporting team objectives.
  • Prioritize and organize work effectively to meet deadlines and align activities with business and organizational goals.
  • Leverage data analytics skills to interpret qualitative and quantitative information, uncover insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Create clear reports, dashboards, and visualizations that translate complex data into actionable business recommendations and opportunities.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
Preferred Skills
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging content that makes complex topics and technical concepts accessible to a wide audience as part of our Storylab.
  • Proficient in a variety of communications tools and applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite and digital content management platforms.
  • Strong sense of branding and visual storytelling; familiarity with graphic design principles and creative tools is a plus.
  • Naturally curious and persistent, with the ability to learn quickly, think critically and navigate a complex, highly matrixed business environment effectively.
