Base pay range

$55,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr

Paschal Roth Public Affairs is seeking a Communications Assistant to support the firm’s day to day work at the center of some of the most critical legislative and political campaigns in the state. Our campaigns are fast-moving and high-stakes; the ideal Communications Assistant will take pride in nailing the behind-the-scenes logistics that make our team effective.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and manage organizational systems to track priority legislation and press releases
• Assist with media event planning and pitching
• Assist with press release distribution and follow up
• Assist with media clip roundups
• Assist with the development of social media toolkits
• Position is remote with occasional travel and in person work required

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in local or state government, political campaigns, or similar communications roles (including internships) is preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Interest in California legislature and politics
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, as well as the ability to prioritize
• Ability to adapt across a multitude of client issue areas
• Timely and consistent responsiveness
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google suite of tools
• Proficiency in Canva a plus
• Motivated, resourceful, and comfortable moving between teams
• Practices discretion and maintains confidentiality
