As a Communications Technician, you’ll work across MST’s product suite and integrated third-party technologies, supporting and servicing our clients in both field and workshop environments.

At MST, our Communications Technicians are an integral part of our customer-facing operations, providing service and support to customers both onsite and in our workshops. Technicians will work across our MST Product suite and third-party integrated technologies in line with the scope of works our Surface and Underground mining customers require.

Typical daily tasks include:

• Install and maintain radio frequency (RF) equipment.
• Install and maintain Wi-Fi Network Solutions.
• Read and write RF transmission and reception systems.
• Deliver RF Solutions including Coaxial Cable Termination.
• Test and splice fibre optic cables.
• Fault find in all types of communications systems.
• Perform bench repairs on electronic equipment.

Everyone at MST is responsible for safety, and you will ensure a culture and practice of safety compliance is maintained on all worksites.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

• Certificate III in Electronic and Communications or equivalent.
• 2 - 3 years of on-the-job experience.
• Focused on delivering quality work to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Working knowledge of communications technology and the mining industries (desirable).
• Good time management and punctuality.

You will already have or be ready to complete:

• Working at Heights certificate.
• Tower Rescue or equivalent.
