Job Summary: The Communications and Athletics Information Specialist plays a vital role in advancing the visibility and reputation of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. This position is responsible for creating, editing, and distributing written content across multiple platforms to effectively share the Colleges story, support institutional goals, and promote a positive public image. The position also supports the Athletic Department through sports information duties.
Research, write, edit, and distribute press releases and feature stories highlighting College programs, initiatives, and events.
Ensure all press materials are accurate, timely, and effectively promoted through appropriate media channels.
Produce feature content for the College website and special publications.
Develop story ideas by engaging with faculty, staff, and students across campus.
Accurately record, verify, and report in-game statistics.
Manage the ABAC Athletics website, including updating rosters, schedules, game results, and live streams.
Coordinate with Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and opposing teams to meet conference and division standards of communication.
Assist with coverage and writing initiatives related to ABACs athletic programs.
This position requires availability for a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and special events.
