Job Summary

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, a four-year comprehensive state college and member of the University System of Georgia, seeks an enthusiastic, creative, collegial, and service-oriented librarian for its ABAC Bainbridge, GA location. Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College offers associate and baccalaureate degrees and has an approximate enrollment of 4,000. The Bainbridge campus serves approximately 250 to 300 students. The small size promotes faculty, staff, and students to work closely together and allows for engaged and mentored learning experiences.

The successful candidate will be an active and engaged member of ABAC Bainbridge. The candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the library, advising on library needs including collection development, and providing library instruction: including online tutorials, in person and in class instruction, and one-on-one research coaching - both in person and online. This position will work with the AVP for Student Success to coordinate Academic Support and serve as a point-of-contact for assisting with reasonable accommodations at ABAC Bainbridge, including course registration, testing, and tutoring.

The Individual Hired Will

• Manage the daily operations and services of the ABAC Bainbridge Library branch.
• Guide and manage a part-time employee and institutional student workers.
• Provide reference services for patrons of the Bainbridge Library.
• Cover library instruction for any requesting class, ensuring instruction adheres to the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy guidelines.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for reasonable accommodations, assisting Academic Support with course registration, tutoring, and testing services.
• Facilitate testing accommodations by providing students with a designated study room equipped with a computer and security camera and monitoring the video feed as necessary.
• Assist with collection development, acquisitions, cataloging, and reference duties.
• Participate in Library 2.0 services across campus including managing social media, website, calendars, email, and online help/tutorials.
• Promote library awareness across campus.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master of Library Science or Master of Library Information Systems from an accredited American Library Association (ALA) graduate program.
• One to three years working in a library setting with knowledge of library processes.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and empower students to succeed.
• Strong computer and technology skills.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
