Communication & Wellness Specialist
Job Summary
Seeking a Communication & Wellness Specialist to support employee benefits communications, wellness initiatives, and client engagement for a growing insurance and employee benefits organization.
This individual will create and maintain employee-facing communication materials, coordinate wellness resources and vendors, and support account teams with client-facing projects, employee education, and engagement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is personable, outgoing, creative, and highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple communication and wellness projects in a remote environment.
The Role
- Create and update employee-facing benefits communications using established templates, primarily in PowerPoint.
- Develop benefit guides, open enrollment materials, presentations, flyers, wellness resources, compliance communications, and other client-facing materials.
- Update communication materials based on plan design details, benefit changes, carrier information, and client-specific needs.
- Review materials for accuracy, consistency, formatting, and overall presentation.
- Support account teams with client meetings, employee education campaigns, open enrollment, and other benefits initiatives.
- Identify and coordinate wellness vendors for health fairs, onsite events, educational programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support wellness and community outreach efforts designed to increase employee participation and engagement.
- Monitor wellness trends, emerging programs, and vendor offerings to help identify additional resources for clients.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to gather information, clarify details, and coordinate projects.
- Manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and administrative responsibilities.
- Work within various communication, compliance, content-development, and project-management platforms.
- Assist with quality control to ensure materials are polished, accurate, and ready for client or employee distribution.
Required Experience / Qualifications / Education
- 2–3 years of experience in employee benefits, insurance, HR, benefits communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, formatting, and consistency.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Comfortable creating and updating materials within established branded templates.
- Ability to learn new technology platforms quickly and work independently once trained.
- Professional and service-oriented approach when interacting with clients, vendors, account teams, and other stakeholders.
- Experience with employee benefits communications, open enrollment materials, wellness programs, health fairs, or employee engagement initiatives is preferred.
- Canva experience is preferred.
- Employee benefits or insurance industry experience is strongly preferred.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 annually.
- Full-time opportunity.
- Remote/hybrid work arrangement.
- Candidates located in the Atlanta or Athens, Georgia areas are preferred.
- Occasional business travel, generally approximately 10%.
- Travel may increase to approximately 25% for employees located outside the Atlanta or Athens areas.
