Job summary

MMT Ambulance is seeking a Communication Specialist to coordinate critical communications between dispatchers and facilities, ensuring timely transport responses. You will be responsible for accurately recording information and notifying callers of delays as needed.

The role requires high-stress composure, strong English and medical terminology knowledge, and excellent customer service. You will operate a multi-line phone system and various software, while supporting weekend and holiday shifts

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in spelling and writing English.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to deal with high stress situations.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency of electronic communication.
  • Self-confidence, emotional stability, good judgment, and tolerance for high stress.
  • Possess good verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communication between dispatchers and facilities to ensure timely responses.
  • Notify callers of any delay in transports as requested by dispatch.
  • Receive, assimilate, and record information accurately into the system.
  • Operate computers, software, and multi-line phone system.
  • Flexible as to work schedule and able to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
