Job Title: Communication Specialist (Contractor)

We advocate for healthier self-perception, promote education on the dangers of toxic ingredients, and work to empower communities to embrace their natural beauty. We believe in fostering a world where beauty is defined by authenticity and well-being, not by skin tone.

Position Summary:

The Beautywell Project is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Communication Specialist on a contract basis to develop and execute targeted communication strategies that amplify our mission, engage our diverse audiences, and drive awareness and support for our initiatives. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional with exceptional writing, digital communication, and strategic thinking skills who is deeply committed to social justice and public health. The contractor will work closely with the Beautywell Project team to deliver specific communication outcomes.

Key deliverables & responsibilities:

The contractor will be responsible for a range of communication activities, which will include, but are not limited to, the following based on agreed-upon projects and timelines:

· Content Development & Management:

· Craft compelling and accurate content for various digital platforms, including website pages, blog posts, social media updates, email newsletters, and specific campaign materials.

· Ensure all communications align with the Beautywell Project's brand voice, messaging, and strategic objectives.

· Plan and manage content calendars for specific campaigns or ongoing needs.

· Digital & social media engagement.

· Develop and implement strategies for optimizing the Beautywell Project's presence on key social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok).

· Media relations support.

· Assist in drafting and distributing press releases, media advisories, and media kits for specific initiatives.

· Support media outreach efforts as needed for campaign launches or significant announcements.

· Campaign Specific Communications:

· Collaborate with the Beautywell Project team to develop and execute communication plans for defined advocacy, educational, or fundraising campaigns.

· Create communication toolkits or resources for partners and community engagement.

Contractor Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

· 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in a communication specialist role, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse communication materials (e.g., social media campaigns, blog posts, press releases, website content).

· *Proven expertise in digital content creation, social media management, and online engagement strategies.

· Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to adapt voice for different audiences.

· Proficiency with social media scheduling and analytics tools.

· Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp).

· Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.

· Ability to work independently and communicate effectively as a remote contractor.

· Deep understanding of and passion for the Beautywell Project's mission and commitment to racial justice, public health, and challenging harmful beauty standards.

Contract Details:

· Contract Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

· Project Duration: [Specify duration, 6 months with potential for extension, on project basis.

· Compensation: $32 Hourly rate,

· Expected Start Date: June 2025

· The contractor will be responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and equipment necessary to perform the work.
