Qualifications

  • Experience as secretary, receptionist, or customer service in a busy public office preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming calls, pages, and messages through the hospital switchboard.
  • Direct communications to the appropriate departments, providers, and on-call staff.
  • Prioritize urgent requests and support timely communication during emergencies.
  • Assist patients, visitors, and team members with questions and general information.
  • Monitor hospital alarm systems and relay critical information to emergency response teams.
  • Coordinate interpreter and communication assistance services for patients and visitors.
  • Maintain accurate contact lists, on-call schedules, and communication records.
  • Troubleshoot basic telecommunications issues and report system concerns.
  • Support emergency preparedness, incident command, and disaster response activities as needed.
  • Contribute ideas that improve communication processes and service efficiency.
