Job summary

Wakefield Pork, Inc. is seeking a communication intern to support marketing initiatives. You will help create social media strategies, measure analytics, and boost engagement across platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Housing is provided for interns relocating to the area.

This internship runs for 12 weeks during summer with standard hours, and offers exposure to leadership activities, company events, and a chance to contribute to brand-building efforts.

Qualifications

  • Be currently enrolled at a 2- or 4-year college or university.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
  • Excellent internet research skills.
  • High attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and implementing social media strategies and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with teams to align social media campaigns and strategies.
  • Track analytics and identify high performing ideas for scalability.
  • Develop new strategies to increase engagement.
  • Respond to social media campaigns and posts via messaging and DMs.
  • Ensure social media activity aligns with company culture and brand.
  • Assist in organizing events and campaigns (job fairs, community events).

Description

The communication intern is responsible for assisting in a range of marketing initiatives within Wakefield Pork Inc. Our interns are an important part of the Wakefield Pork family and have opportunities to take part in leadership activities, company specific and Minnesota Pork Board events, and more!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the creation and implementation of various social media strategies and campaigns
  • Collaborate with other teams, to align social media campaigns and strategies
  • Tracking analytics for social media campaigns and engagement to identify high performing ideas and campaigns for scalability
  • Assist in developing new strategies for increasing engagement
  • Assist in the responses of social media campaigns and posts through messaging, DMs, and other various forms of communication
  • Ensure compliance of all social media activity, that line with company's culture and brand.
  • Assist/attend organizing of events and campaigns, such as job fairs, community events sponsored by the company, and other various company gatherings.
Hours:
  • Summer - 12 weeks (beginning mid-May and ending mid-August)
  • Typically, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Pay and Benefits:
  • Interns paid an hourly rate of $17 per hour
  • Housing is provided for interns relocating to the area
  • Housing stipend potentially available
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
  • Be currently enrolled at a 2- or 4-year college or university
  • Knowledge of various social media platforms, including, Facebook, X (Twitter),LinkedIn, Instagram, Tik-Tok, etc.
  • Excellent internet research skills
  • High attention to detail, oral and written communication skills
Additional Requirements:
  • This position may require operating a company vehicle. Any internship offer forthis position is contingent upon the review of applicant's motor vehicle record.The record will be reviewed to determine insurability based on WPI's companypolicy and insurance carrier. A Class D license and proof of insurance arerequired.
  • A dependable, personal vehicle is required of all interns for the daily workcommute. Mileage in excess of 40 miles round trip will be reimbursed.
