Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking Estate Services Cleaners to keep communal areas clean, safe and welcoming for residents across Ashford, Canterbury and surrounding areas. You’ll perform hands-on cleaning duties and assist with health and safety checks, reporting issues to the Estate Services Manager.

The role requires reliability, ability to work independently or in a small team, and a responsible, resident‑friendly approach. A valid UK driving licence is needed for vehicle duties where required.

Qualifications

• Experience undertaking cleaning duties in communal environments.
• Able to work alone and as part of a small team.
• Basic understanding of health & safety practices.
• Physically demanding role requiring endurance.
• Professional and friendly approach when dealing with residents.
• Access emails and log repairs using a smartphone.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and drive company vehicles when required.

Responsibilities

• Clean internal and external communal areas to a high standard.
• Identify repairs or health and safety issues as they arise.
• Log issues using a smartphone and report promptly.
• Follow health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Collaborate with Estate Services staff to maintain estates.
