Bates College’s Commons dining program seeks a service-oriented Commons Associate to support front line operations in Lewiston, ME. The role serves roughly 5000 meals daily, upholding food safety and sanitation while fostering inclusive relations with a diverse campus community.

This full-time, full-year position includes cashiering assistance, beverage station oversight, and collaboration with Dining and campus partners to ensure excellent service and a welcoming environment for students,

Position Purpose

The Commons Associate - Service position primarily serves as front line support for the Bates dining program which serves approximately 5000 meals per day to the students, faculty, staff and guests of the college. This position is responsible for following food safety and sanitation procedures and demonstrating positive relationships with individuals and groups with varying backgrounds, perspectives, education and skills.

Job Duties

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $17.00 to $21.25. Placement within the range depends on experience and other factors.This position may be eligible for shift differential pay of $.50 dependent upon assigned shifts.
