Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Common Criteria Security Engineer for a long-term, fully remote consulting engagement in the United States. You will join a global certification team supporting European Common Criteria evaluation efforts and collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance stakeholders to drive certification outcomes.

The role focuses on incorporating Common Criteria into product development, developing certification artifacts, and guiding risk assessments and remediation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience.
• 1-5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, compliance, or related disciplines; internships may count for junior roles.
• Knowledge of security frameworks, secure development practices, network security, cloud technologies, identity management, cryptography, or OS security concepts.
• Exposure to compliance, certification, regulatory, or assurance programs; direct Common Criteria experience is desirable but not required.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, SSCP, or similar credentials; international team collaboration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and cybersecurity teams to integrate Common Criteria into product lifecycles.
• Develop and maintain certification artifacts including Security Targets and evidence.
• Assess architectures and controls to meet certification and assurance expectations.
• Participate in security reviews, threat modeling, risk assessments, and remediation planning.
• Serve as liaison between internal teams and external evaluation laboratories throughout certification lifecycle.
