Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Common Criteria Security Engineer for a long-term, fully remote consulting engagement focused on cybersecurity certification, security assurance, and product compliance. You will join a Global Certification Team supporting European Common Criteria evaluation efforts and collaborate with product, engineering, and compliance stakeholders to drive certification outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 1–5+ years in cybersecurity, security engineering, or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of security frameworks, secure development practices, cloud technologies, identity management, cryptography, or OS security concepts.
• Exposure to compliance, certification, regulatory, or assurance programs; Common Criteria desirable but not required.
• Security+ / CCNA Security / CySA+ / SSCP or similar certifications preferred.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and cybersecurity teams to incorporate Common Criteria and related security requirements into product development lifecycles.
• Develop and maintain certification artifacts, including Security Targets, technical evidence, procedural documentation, and supporting compliance deliverables.
• Assess system architectures, security controls, and technical implementations to ensure alignment with certification and assurance expectations.
• Participate in security reviews, threat modeling activities, risk assessments, and remediation planning to strengthen product security posture.
• Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external evaluation laboratories throughout certification, maintenance, and recertification activities.

This fully remote Common Criteria Security Engineer opportunity will join a Global Certification Team responsible for supporting European Common Criteria evaluation efforts, working closely with engineering, security, and compliance stakeholders to help drive successful certification outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• 1-5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, compliance, systems engineering, software development, or related technical disciplines. Strong internship experience may be considered for junior-level candidates.
• Knowledge of security frameworks, secure development practices, network security, cloud technologies, identity management, cryptography, or operating system security concepts.
• Exposure to compliance, certification, regulatory, or assurance programs is preferred; direct Common Criteria experience is highly desirable but not required.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, SSCP, or similar credentials are preferred. Experience collaborating with international or European teams is a plus.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $135,000 - $160,000
• 20 Days PTO + 11 Paid Holidays
