Job summary

Westfalia-Automotive GmbH is seeking a Commodity Manager for forged, cast, milled, and turned parts with hybrid work arrangements and a permanent contract. The role emphasizes global responsibility for a broad commodity group, supplier development, and cost reduction across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate has a commercial or technical background and several years of automotive experience, plus strong English skills to lead complex negotiations and a proactive work style.

Qualifications

• Completed commercial or technical vocational training or university degree.
• Several years of professional experience in a comparable position.
• Strong negotiation skills and high levels of constructive assertiveness.
• Proficiency in English to lead complex negotiations.
• High level of initiative and a proactive working style.

Responsibilities

• Global management of the commodity group comprising forged, cast, milled, and turned parts for all locations, focusing on quality, costs, and schedules.
• Analysis of relevant expenditures at the commodity group level and development of commodity and supplier strategies.
• Continuous procurement market research and identification of new suppliers.
• Supplier evaluation and development in close coordination with related departments.
• Support for project purchasing during the procurement process for new contract awards.
• Independent development and implementation of cost-reduction measures.
• Execution of VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) and Make-or-Buy projects.
• Drafting supplier-specific contracts (e.g. supply agreements, quality assurance agreements, confidentiality agreements).
• Cross-project negotiations (annual and multi-year price negotiations) ensuring required capacities at supplier level.
• Conduct supplier potential analyses and participate in supplier audits.
• Reporting to Purchasing Management and Executive Management.
