Job Description

Location Options: Winamac, IN; Carmel, IN; or Remote.

Work Expectation: 50% of the time in the office at Winamac or Carmel, with the remaining 50% remote or involving travel.

General Purpose: The Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for specific commodities or categories of products and services. This includes negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely, cost-effective acquisition of materials and services. The role is vital in optimizing supply chain performance and meeting organizational goals related to cost, quality, and delivery.

Essential Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Implement sourcing strategies for key spending categories.
• Negotiate terms and conditions to achieve optimal value.
• Evaluate families of commodity suppliers and monitor their performance against contract and cost targets.
• Establish measures to ensure supplier health and detect risks.
• Oversee the preparation and reporting of commodity buying trends and strategies.
• Achieve year-over-year cost reduction initiatives in selected commodities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience totaling 10 years.
• 5+ years of successful experience in Strategic Procurement & Sourcing, preferably in electronics, automotive, or manufacturing industries.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• ERP experience, with Epicor experience being a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
