Summary:
The Commodity Business Manager (CBM), Lab Consulting & Services, is responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives for Labs, Testing, Metrology, R&D, and Engineering. The CBM collaborates with stakeholders to align procurement objectives with business needs, mitigate risks, and foster supplier innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, align, and implement category strategies for Services in Labs, Testing, Metrology, R&D, Engineering, and related functions.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor, understanding their requirements and translating them into effective sourcing solutions.
- Conduct market research, benchmarking, and analyze trends, risks, and economic conditions impacting pricing and availability.
- Lead end-to-end RFx processes including information gathering, preparation, issuance, evaluation, negotiation, supplier selection, and contracting in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Negotiate and manage agreements with suppliers, including pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure optimal value.
- Manage new supplier onboarding and disengagement requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure performance, quality, and delivery standards.
- Manage supplier performance metrics and implement corrective actions through SLAs and KPIs.
- Analyze procurement data, track spend, savings, supplier optimization, and other KPIs.
- Identify opportunities for improving quality, delivery, service, and costs.
- Present data-driven cost reduction recommendations to influence procurement decisions.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, laws, and company policies.
Functional Knowledge
- Expertise in procurement of services for Labs, Testing, Metrology, R&D, and Engineering.
- Experience in MRO procurement is a plus.
- Skills in market analysis, sourcing, RFx, negotiations, contracting, stakeholder and supplier relations, risk, and compliance.
- Experience with testing services, calibration services, post-warranty maintenance, and MRO services is advantageous.
- Proficiency in negotiating agreements, contracts, SOWs, and establishing SLAs and KPIs.
- Experience with procurement tools like Ariba Guided Buying, Ariba CLM, and Workday Scout.
- Ability to extract and analyze data from Tableau, Sievo, or similar tools.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
