O’Connell Robertson is seeking an individual to join and lead the Commissioning team, serving as a Commissioning Team Leader in Austin, San Antonio, or Houston, Texas. The candidate must thrive in a “team environment” and work collaboratively with our firm’s contractors and TAB specialists. We want someone with a desire to exceed expectations and a commitment to ensuring the built environment matches the design intent. We need someone who can give critical insight to project teams on a variety of construction types to help our clients achieve their goals. Bottom line… we want only the best.

The Commissioning Team Leader will be responsible for working with contractors, engineering design team members, and coordinating project team members responsibilities of design reviews, equipment testing, and systems testing, or construction documents on various scale projects.

• Lead the commissioning team to provide services from start to finish on multiple educational and healthcare projects
• Assist owner in development of the OPR
• Review BOD document to ensure adherence with the OPR
• Review Design Documents
• Develop commissioning specifications
• Perform progress Site Visits
• Lead commissioning meetings
• Develop and review construction pre-functional/startup checklists
• Develop and perform system functional testing including seasonal testing
• Maintenance of Issues Log
• Review TAB reports
• Development of systems manuals
• Preparation of final commissioning reports
• Assist with Marketing and Business development

We’re looking for passionate, driven self-starters. Beyond that, you’ll need…

• Minimum 5 years of industry experience
• Enjoy being detailed and organized
• Flexibility to accommodate occasional after hours or weekend testing to respond to project needs.
• Keen ability to focus on all aspects of the systems being tested, ensuring that every component, function, and process meets the required standards and specifications
• Familiarity with the commissioning process and principles
• Commissioning software experience: CxAlloy or Facility Grid
• EIT, PE or commissioning certification is required
• Controls or TAB experience is preferred
• HVAC Design experience preferred
• LEED AP preferred
