Job summary

AVI-SPL, Inc. is seeking a role focused on final testing and commissioning of complex AV systems. You will provide technical and project leadership, work with the Project Manager, and document test results from system testing and commissioning.

You will interpret schematics, test system functionality, and troubleshoot AMX/Crestron and DSP systems. Expect to travel to job sites and assist with client training and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal electronics education preferred.
• Experience with AV installation and system commissioning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read schematics and architectural blueprints.
• Test point-to-point functionality and integration of AV systems.
• Troubleshoot AMX/Crestron and DSP systems; upload/download control programs.
• Write DSP code and perform minor programming changes as directed by an engineer.
• Travel to job sites as required and train clients as needed.

This position will also provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments as well as establish goals and plans that meet project objectives. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager to provide documented test result from system testing and commissioning.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This role is responsible for the final testing and commissioning of complexed Audio-Visual systems during and post build. This position will also provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments as well as establish goals and plans that meet project objectives. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager to provide documented test result from system testing and commissioning.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
• Test point-to-point functionality of systems
• Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure quality and completeness of installation
• Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting for AMX/Crestron and DSP systems
• Field installation of control programs (AMX/Crestron) – upload and download capability
• Write code for DSP systems
• Make minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer
• Fine tune audio video systems to ensure optimal performance
• Configure IP addressable devices to establish communication on a network
• Perform client training and final job documentation as needed
• Act as a customer liaison in absence of Project Manager
• Create, track, and complete a project Punchlist
• Ability to travel to various job sites required
• Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.

• This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to regularly climb and work from ladders up to heights of 35 feet; lifting equipment, tools, and materials.

Employee Driving Requirements

• Employees operating company or personal vehicles for business purposes must be legally authorized to drive, maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of coverage, meeting all minimum required insurance coverage as a condition of employment.
• Employees driving fleet vehicles must meet eligibility requirements; comply with all guidelines, including telematics monitoring, vehicle maintenance schedules, proper use of assigned fuel and toll devices.

Nice-To-Haves:

• Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years of AV Installation experience preferred
• A four-year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience
• Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Bluejeans, Cisco Telepresence, etc.) both hardware and software
• AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent standing, walking, and physical activity.

• Use of tools and equipment as required.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay Information

• Pay Type: Hourly
• Min Base: $33.66/hr
• Max Base: $44.24/hr

This pay range represents the base salary for this position. Actual compensation within the range will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, and location.
