Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, via WECTEC Staffing Services, seeks a Commissioning Project Manager for renewable energy projects on a 1-year contract. You will manage commissioning, startup and turnover for wind, solar and battery storage, reporting to the onsite Manager.

Remote work with travel to multiple sites is required. The role requires leadership of EPC and startup teams, adherence to safety policies, and coordination with utilities and project stakeholders to ensure timely,

Qualifications

• Electrical construction and commissioning knowledge including NEC and NFPA.
• SCADA integration and troubleshooting experience.
• E&I controls installation, startup and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning activities with high quality and safety compliance.
• Coordinate EPC contractor, OEM startup and third-party personnel on site.
• Ensure reliable operation at turnover with minimal initial downtime.
• Ensure compliance with Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect deliverables.
• Oversee commissioning teams across multiple sites to meet contractual obligations.
• Provide SME input into safety, personnel, and efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with safety, engineering, and quality control teams.

About the role:

We're looking for a Commissioning Project Manager of Renewable Energy on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment.(W-2) You will work on behalf of the project Owner as a Project Manager on a portfolio of renewable energy (wind, solar, battery storage). You will be responsible for execution of assigned renewable power plant projects and teams as it relates to commissioning, start up and operational turnover. You will report to the onsite Manager.

Location: Remote &Travel to multiple sites

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform commissioning activities for assigned projects with high quality and following all safety policies.
• Responsible for coordination and management of, EPC contractor personnel, OEM start up personnel, third-party start up contractors, and operations personnel on site, as it relates to site commissioning and startup.
• Responsible for project reliability at operational turnover with plants exhibiting as little lost time in initial operation.
• Responsible for compliance with all project contractual documents to include Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables with local utility
• Responsible for oversight of commissioning personnel for multiple sites to ensure contractual obligations are met for all assigned projects
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise and input into team strategic planning for safety, personnel, and quality and efficiency improvement
• Work with project's designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties

Qualifications:

• Electrical construction and commissioning means and methods knowledge including NEC and NFPA
• Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting
• E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup and troubleshooting
• Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting
• Inverter operation and communications startup and troubleshooting
• Battery Energy Storage System operation and troubleshooting
• Drawing review quality control inspection
• Manage third parties and suppliers
