Job summary

Resource Services Group (RSGx) seeks experienced Mechanical Commissioning Technicians to join a major WA resource project near Newman. You will work with a high-performing team on mechanical commissioning, testing and handover of fixed-plant equipment.

The role requires trade certification, white-card safety, and at least five years’ experience, with the ability to collaborate across construction, commissioning, engineering and operations to ensure safe, compliant handover.

Qualifications

  • Australian-recognised Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner Trade Certificate.
  • Construction Card (White) held.
  • Working At Heights certification is required.
  • Confined Space Entry certification is required.
  • Australian Working Rights documented.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical commissioning, testing and handover of fixed-plant equipment.
  • Collaborate with construction, commissioning, engineering and operations teams.
  • Verify mechanical completion and installation per project requirements.
  • Assist with pre-commissioning, functional testing, inspections and fault identification.
  • Support defect rectification and punch-list close-out activities.
  • Ensure equipment is tested, compliant and ready for handover to operations.

The opportunity:

We are seeking experienced and motivated Mechanical Commissioning Technicians to join our team on a major resource project just outside Newman in WA. This is a great opportunity to be part of a high-performing team delivering critical infrastructure in the heart of the Pilbara, one of Australia’s most significant and dynamic resource regions. The role offers exposure to industry-leading standards, modern test equipment, and the chance to contribute to a project that will play a key role in supporting ongoing operations in the mining sector.

Work Scope:

  • As a Construction Electrician, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
  • Support the mechanical commissioning, testing and handover of fixed-plant equipment.
  • Work closely with construction, commissioning, engineering and operations teams throughout the commissioning process.
  • Verify mechanical completion and ensure equipment has been installed in accordance with project requirements.
  • Assist with pre-commissioning, functional testing, inspections and fault identification.
  • Support defect rectification and punch-list close-out activities.
  • Ensure equipment is tested, compliant and ready for safe operation and handover to the operations team.
